James Franco’s father Doug passed away at age 63 on Monday (September 26) in Palo Alto, Calif.

“He had a heart attack and died at the hospital shortly after he arrived there,” James’s rep exclusively confirms to JustJared.com.

Doug Franco - a Silicon Valley Entrepreneur with a Harvard MBA - is survived by his wife Betsy and his three sons, James, Dave, and Tom.

A week after Doug’s death, James’s mother confirmed the untimely news.

“It is true that my sweet, generous husband passed away,” Betsy tweeted. “He gave so much to his three sons and me, and to many other people, too.”

Our deepest condolences go out to the Franco family and friends.

Steve Jobs‘ family has released a statement regarding the former Apple CEO’s death.

“Steve died peacefully today surrounded by his family. In his public life, Steve was known as a visionary; in his private life, he cherished his family. We are thankful to the many people who have shared their wishes and prayers during the last year of Steve’s illness; a website will be provided for those who wish to offer tributes and memories. We are grateful for the support and kindness of those who share our feelings for Steve. We know many of you will mourn with us, and we ask that you respect our privacy during our time of grief,” the family said.

Steve Jobs, the former CEO of Apple, has passed away. He was 56.

“Apple has lost a visionary and creative genius, and the world has lost an amazing human being. Those of us who have been fortunate enough to know and work with Steve have lost a dear friend and an inspiring mentor. Steve leaves behind a company that only he could have built, and his spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple,” the company said in a statement on its website.

Steve had resigned from his position back in August. He received a liver transplant for pancreatic cancer in 2009.

Steve is survived by his wife Laurene and his four children.

Vanessa Hudgens and rumored beau Austin Butler get caught in the rain as they head back to his car on Wednesday (October 5) in Studio City, Calif.

The 22-year-old actress and Austin, 20, grabbed some food to go from SunCafe.

Vanessa recently opened up about her upcoming project Frozen Ground, sharing that the film has “an amazing cast.”
