The premiere of the film was a huge success! The heartfelt flick received a standing ovation at its conclusion, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The day before, Gerard and his Machine Gun Preacher co-star Michelle Monaghan hit the red carpet together at the Creative Coalition's 2011 Spotlight Initiative Awards.

Jennifer Garner brings her adorable daughters Violet and Seraphina to ballet class on Saturday (September 10) in Santa Monica, Calif.

After the class, the 39-year-old pregnant actress brought Violet home to change and then brought her to a birthday party.

Andy Whitfield, star of Spartacus: Blood and Sand, died on Sunday (September 11) in Sydney, Australia, USA Today reports.

The 39-year-old actor lost his battle to non-Hodgkin Lymphoma after an eighteen month battle with the disease.

Andy’s wife said in a statement that he died on a “sunny Sydney morning” in the “arms of his loving wife.”

Andy was a small time actor until he was cast in the hit Starz series. In January, it was announced that Liam McIntyre would take over for Andy’s role in the series.

Our deepest condolences go out to Andy's family and friends.

Jason Statham and Clive Owen hit the red carpet at the premiere of their film Killer Elite at Roy Thomson Hall during the 2011 Toronto International Film Festival on Saturday (September 10) in Toronto, Canada.

Killer Elite is about a retired member of Britain’s Elite Special Air Service (Statham) who is forced into action when his mentor (Robert DeNiro) is taken captive. His mission: kill three assassins dispatched by their cunning leader (Owen).

The film hits theaters on September 23!

Drive is about a Hollywood stunt performer (Gosling) who moonlights as a wheelman and discovers that a contract has been put on him after a heist gone wrong.

Ryan attended the premiere of his other new flick The Ides of March the evening before.

Demi Lovato and Naya Rivera glam up the red carpet at the 2011 Alma Awards held at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium on Saturday (September 10) in Santa Monica, Calif.

Demi, 19, and Naya, 24, were both nominated in the Favorite TV Actress - Comedy category for their work on Sonny with a Chance and Glee, respectively.

The award ultimately went to Demi, who wore a Maria Lucia Hohan dress.

Eva Longoria, who is hosting the show, recently revealed that Demi would be performing a new version of her hit song “Skyscraper,” which would be partially translated into Spanish.

Contagion took the top spot at the box office this weekend!

The star studded action thriller, featuring Matt Damon, Kate Winslet, Jude Law, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Marion Cotillard, brought in $23.1 million.

Second place went to The Help, which still had a strong week and took second place with $8.7 million.

Also released this weekend were Warrior, which Variety reports finished with a lower than expected $5.6 million, and Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star, which only brought in $1.5 million.
