Tom Cruise has been offered a supporting role in the big screen version of the Broadway hit Rock of Ages, according to Access Hollywood.

If he signs on for the project, the 48-year-old star would most likely play a bartender who gets the chance to sing some ’80s rock classics.

Taylor Swift will reportedly star as Sherrie Christian in the flick, which follows a young rocker and a small town girl chasing their dreams in L.A.

Production on the project is scheduled to begin in January.

The 21-year-old singer’s ex-girlfriend Rihanna shared about their troubles in Marie Claire UK's December 2010 issue. “God has a crazy way of working, and sometimes when stuff happens you feel like, What did I do to deserve this? Why was it backfiring on me?," she said. “But I needed that wake-up call in my life. I needed a turning point, and that’s what God was giving to me,” she added.

“All this terrible stuff they say to you, it breaks you down. [But] once you’re back on your feet — if you ever make it back on your feet that’s the ultimate achievement,” Rihanna said.

Ryan Gosling climbs out of a vintage muscle car covered in fake blood in a scene for his upcoming film Drive, on Tuesday (October 26) in Los Angeles.

The 29-year-old actor was part of the early ’90s Disney series, The All New Mickey Mouse Club, (alongside Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, and Christina Aguilera) but it wasn’t long before he realized that his wedding warbling didn’t quite cut it.

“It was kind of depressing because when I got there, they realized that I wasn't really up to snuff in comparison with what some of the other kids were able to do,” he told Interview magazine. “I remember one time they put four of us in a dance routine, but I was so off. I was on the end, so they just pushed the shot in closer on the other three guys to frame me out.”
