The 26-year-old Indian actress next stars in Woody Allen's latest London-based ensemble film, You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger, out Sept. 22. In a case of art imitating life, Freida plays exotic musicologist Dia, who leaves her fiancé for another man.

In January 2009, Freida called off her real-life engagement to Rohan Antao and started dating her Slumdog Millionaire co-star Dev Patel.

"I feel what I did was right,” Freida shared. “There were no two ways about it. But when I walked into Woody [Allen]'s office and read the scene in the nursery, where Dia confesses for the first time that she has doubts about what she is getting into, I was like, Has someone been reading the gossip magazines to Woody?"

Here’s what the 32-year-old actor, who plays iconic gay poet Allen Ginsberg in Howl, had to share:

On whether he’d admit if he were gay: "Sure, I'd tell you if I was. I guess the reason I wouldn't is because I'd be worried that it would hurt my career. I suppose that's the reason one wouldn't do that, right? But no, that wouldn't be something that would deter me. I'm going to do projects that I want to do. Everyone thinks I'm a stoner, and some people think I'm gay because I've played these gay roles. That's what people think, but it's not true. I don't smoke pot. I'm not gay…"

On why he chooses to portray gay characters: "In this history of cinema, there are so many heterosexual love stories. It's so hammered, so done. It's just not that interesting to me. It's more interesting to me to play roles and relationships that haven't been portrayed as often."

On how nothing would stop him from taking the role in Howl: "You want to know what my agents did try to talk me out of? General Hospital. They didn't think me acting in a soap opera was the greatest idea. But they know that I've always wanted to do a movie about the Beats, so no one tried to stop me from playing Allen Ginsberg."

J.J. Abrams is joining forces with The Dark Knight co-writer Jonah Nolan for a new crime thriller TV series!

The Alias and Lost creator is shopping around the series with Jonah, who is the brother of The Dark Knight/Inception writer Christopher Nolan, according to EW.

Jonah also co-wrote The Prestige and the short story Memento was based on!

An insider tells EW that one network is “extremely interested” in the project.

Willow Smith has signed with Jay-Z’s record label Roc Nation!

The 9-year-old daughter of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith has her first single out called "Whip My Hair," produced by newcomer Jukebox.
