Jesse Carmichael, on the band’s changing styles: "We've always gone through different stylistic phases ever since we started playing music together in seventh grade. One day it'd be Green Day meets Fugazi, then the next Oasis meets the Black Crowes. It was all over the place, just anything we felt like writing. And that's still the way it is."

Adam, on the band’s longevity: "You get to a point where you can outlive your criticism, and I think we're starting to turn that corner now. People are saying, 'Wow, this isn't a flash in the pan—this is a band that's been around through other bands' rising and falling.'”

Alexander Skarsgard will begin filming on his action flick Battleship starting next week in Hawaii!

The 34-year-old True Blood hunk was asked by MTV what he thinks about being in a film based on a board game. He said, “I don’t really think about that very much. It’s quite different from the board game, obviously. Pete is a great guy — the director, Peter Berg — and I’m just excited to start it, I really am.”

Alexander, who presented at the Emmys over the weekend, stars alongside Friday Night Lights‘ Taylor Kitsch, Rihanna, Brooklyn Decker in the film, which will be released into theaters on May 25, 2012!

Rihanna’s next single is “Only Girl (In The World),” JustJared.com can confirm.

“The song is electrifying and explosive,” says an insider who has heard the track, which was produced by a hitmaker she has used before.

The song is set to impact radio airwaves on September 14th, along with Will.i.am and Nicki Minaj’s “Check it Out,” JLS’s “Ay Mama” featuring Shontelle, and Kevin Rudolf’s “You Make the Rain Fall” featuring Flo Rida.

RiRi tweeted Ryan Seacrest, “in less than 10 dayz ima send u sumn special, and ur gonna play it OVER and OVER, like I’m the only girl in the world!”

Co-star Carrie Preston had a total spa day at the HBO Luxury Lounge featuring the L’Oreal Paris Beauty Suite where she got a mani/pedi. She also picked up a Brahmin handbag and a sleek TW Steel watch.

Jon Chu, who’s directing the flick, hasn’t confirmed the news but tweeted Just Jared a tease: “You’re gonna love the show tonight… We got some tricks up our sleeves!! You’re gonna flip… Just sayin’. C u there!”

Black Swan director Darren Aronofsky recently told MTV that casting Natalie in the film had been planned for a long time!

I had this idea of setting something in the ballet world. It was very loose. I didn’t have a script. And then I found out she was fascinated by ballet and wanted to play a dancer.”

On finalizing baby Louis‘ adoption: As sterile as the room seemed, it felt so rich - it felt like it was time. On keeping Louis’ adoption secret for so long and retaining privacy: “It takes good people with integrity.
