It was announced yesterday that Saturday Night Live writers Andy Samberg, Jorma Taccone, and Akiva Schaffer (also known as the trio The Lonely Island) have been nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics for the song “Shy Ronnie.”

The song was performed by Andy with special musical guest Rihanna on the episode hosted by Blake Lively back in December.

“Shy Ronnie” is nominated against songs from the shows Rescue Me, Family Guy, Monk, Treme, and How I Met Your Mother.

“At this point he doesn’t seem to be in need of an agent,” a spokesman for Mel told THR, noting that he has two projects coming up - The Beaver, also starring Jodie Foster, and How I Spent My Summer Vacation.

Mindy Kaling thinks Dwight Schrute could handle being regional manager of Dunder Mifflin!

The 31-year-old actress and writer, who plays Kelly Kapoor on The Office, told EW’s Michael Ausiello that she’d “love to see Rainn Wilson [as boss].”

"Dwight has become so nuanced — you actually care about him now,” Mindy said. “I think if [we did a good job laying the groundwork] this coming season he would be a fantastic boss.”

"But that's my dream," Mindy added. "It certainly hasn't been approved by people that are more powerful than me and who make those kind of decisions."

The writer/creator told ET he’s in the middle of writing a Britney episode. Ryan also shared that the show will air a tribute episode after the Super Bowl next year, but he wouldn’t say who the episode honored!

ET asked if Michael Jackson was the artist whose music would be featured, and Ryan coyly answered, “Close!”

Jenna Dewan has teamed up with PETA and Energy Muse Jewelry to raise money and awareness for the animal-friendly organization.

The 29-year-old model-actress and wife of Channing Tatum helped design his and her bracelets that incorporate precious stones which represent compassion and respect for animals. She said that she made them as his and hers bracelets because she knew Channing would want to wear one!

Jenna said that she believes “it is important as human beings to be compassionate and respectful towards all of our earthlings. We are all connected. The abuse of exotic animals is inhumane and unnecessary.”

The 35-year-old actress (in an Elizabeth and James Elizabeth Blazer) spoke to the press about her new movie, Salt at D.C.’s Newseum.

Ang covers Parade magazine’s latest issue, and the mag released more excerpts from her interview today on Parade.com! Here’s what she had to share:

On avoiding the dangers of the movie business: “There are many people we’ve seen lost in this business because other people haven’t stopped to make sure they’re OK, you know? People are aware when others are breaking, but in this town they don’t tend to stop and help them. In the end, it costs a life. Part of the sadness in this business is that there are a lot of people in it looking for approval and love. I’m lucky because I was raised with so much love that I can take a lot of knocks and not take anything personally.”

On her opinion of religion: “I respect all religions. What I don’t respect is when people use religion to attack others. I’ve met people across the world, in the middle of nowhere, who are just trying to survive and all they have is religion. In some way it helps them, and I wouldn’t take it away from them. There are also people who use it to hate and kill. I don’t consider them religious people.”

On what her children are being taught to believe: “Brad and I are raising our children to respect everyone. We have a bookshelf in the house that has the Bible, the Torah, the Koran, everything. We will take our children to church, temple, Buddhist ceremonies, Mosques, teaching them about all faiths. Whatever religion they choose, the choice will be theirs.”

“They showed us some scenes with the song in it and it’s always kind of emotional when you see your song involved with a scene. A lot of our music is orchestral and we put our hearts into it, so it really kind of has a cinematic feel. To see with in the scenes in the movie was incredible.”
