Taylor Swift sings the classic song “Tonight” in a West Side Story inspired promo for the 2009 MTV VMAs.

“My version of ‘Tonight’ was pretty theatrical, because I listened to the song and I heard the song and I’m just like, ‘There’s no way to do this and not play it up,’ ” the 19-year-old country cutie said. “When we were in the studio recording, it I just kind of went all out — all show tunes. I am obsessed with Broadway, so I was pretty excited about getting to sing this song.”

True story: I clutched my chest towards the beginning of the video because I was so touched. A few seconds later, Taylor also clutched her chest. OMG.

American Idol host and E! News anchor Ryan Seacrest tapes a few TV segments in front of the cameras outside of the Idol auditions on Friday (August 15) in Boston, Mass.

The 34-year-old, who is 5-foot-8-inches, was seen taking American Idol to new heights by standing on top of a large box to appear taller for the cameras!

Ryan even took the time to pose with fans!

American Idol favorite Constantine Maroulis made headlines earlier this week for getting into a 'bar fight' with a fan over the news that Paula Abdul left the show.

“It was just a drunk dude at a concert [who] just like jumped on my back,” the 22-year-old told Extra. “Not that I wouldn’t [defend her], cause I love Paula. I would hit the streets for her but that's not what happened.”

Idol alum Michael Johns also was shocked at the Paula news: "What can I tell you, I was a bit flabbergasted. Definitely she’s the reason people tune in whether you love her or whether you just want to see if she’s going to be a train wreck, you know. I think something special from the show will be missing."

Check out the new MTV VMAs 2009 promo video featuring Gossip Girl hottie Leighton Meester and Cobra Starship tackling the Broadway musical West Side Story.

The vid was taped at the Transit Museum in Brooklyn and made use of a vintage New York City subway car. The dance moves were choreographed by the spectacular Wade Robson.

Cobra is nominated for 2 VMAs including Best Pop Video (alongside Britney Spears, Lady Gaga Beyonce.)

Kate Gosselin returns home to watch their eight kids on Friday (August 14). after spending the previous night at a Day’s Inn hotel.

Last night Jon denied Kate access to their house during his scheduled time with the kids.

“She tried to come home yesterday, and I wouldn’t let her in the gate, and I guess she called the police,” Jon tells Splash News. “The police came and said it was a civil matter. An officer pulled me aside and I said, ‘This has never happened before and I’m just trying to spend time with my kids and she’s [Kate] gonna have to leave.’”

He continued, “It was a miscommunication. Kate said she was coming home, and I said, ‘Well, it’s my time to spend with the kids.’ I don’t come home when she’s with the kids, and vice versa — and that’s how it’s supposed to be.”

Victoria Beckham strikes a pose before she heads into a building for the 2nd day of American Idol judging on Friday (August 14) in Boston, Mass.

The 35-year-old is temporarily replacing Paula Abdul on the American Idol judging panel. Posh’s rep commented, "There are no talks of her being a permanent judge. They felt she was natural in Denver. [But] she has Fashion Week coming up, and she is focusing on that."

Mary J. Blige will be joining the AI judging panel when they swing through Atlanta.

Playboy Playmate Kendra Wilkinson and NFL player Hank Baskett decided on their son’s name already — Hank Baskett IV!

Kendra wrote on her official site, “Hank and I have soooo much to do to prepare for our baby's arrival, but one thing we can already cross off our list is coming up with a name. We've already decided to name our son Hank Baskett IV!!!”

The 24-year-old cutie continued, “Hank's dad and his grandfather were both named Hank, so it was very important to us to carry on the family tradition. I can't wait to meet my little Hank. :)”

Kate Gosselin packs her things into a car after a fight with Jon, reportedly over an unapproved baby-sitter at their home in Reading, Pennsylvania on Thursday (August 13).

Police were called in while Jon and Kate argued at the fence because she was locked out and denied access to the home. Soon after, Kate was spotted checking into a Days Inn hotel.

The same day, Jon lit up his cancer stick and then took his daughters Cara and Maddy to Starbucks, Staples (to get some back to school supplies) and finally to the bank. Jon is set to throw a pool party in Las Vegas on August 29th.

WWD reports the 30-year-old actress will be selling her "premium designer" line Holmes & Yang exclusively at Maxfield in Los Angeles this fall. Katie and her stylist Jeanne Yang designed the collection, which includes women's and children's wear. (The fashion line was inspired by Suri and Jeanne’s two girls Zoey and Sydney.)
